Found in South Asia, India, and Australia, “walking leaves” are known for their masquerades at all stages of life. Many species mimic brightly-colored, foul-tasting local insects (such as ants) while in their nymph stage. With successive molts, Phyllidae become more and more leaf-like, until their final adult forms become almost impossible to spot amongst real foliage.
This Pulchriphyllium pulchrifolium adult female pin was originally from our September 2024 Bug Box. Featuring dye enamel coated metal, UV printed details, and double posts for extra security, it's sure to be a favorite "walking partner" wherever you go.
